HOMELESSNESS DOESN'T END WHEN THE SCHOOL YEAR DOES. OUR SUPPORT DOESN'T EITHER.
Project Support & Supply is a fundraiser to provide essentials for PUSD families experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, or other obstacles during the summer months.
 

How to Help

The more we raise, the more we can support families in need. That’s where you come in! We’re asking our community to consider making a tax-deductible (Tax ID# 54-2098945) donation to this cause. Any amount you are able to donate will make a difference for our students and families, we can’t do it alone!

To pay by credit card, go to the PUSD Foundation’s secure online payment form, and write "YIT" where it says "Designate Funds to."

What Will My Donation Fund?

Our goal is to raise $25,000 from June 1, 2025 to August 31, 2025. Your donation will fund the following wish list from PUSD's Youth in Transition program to support our families: 
  • Breakfast items (nonperishable and not expired)
  • Lunch (nonperishable and not expired)
  • Microwavable food (such as oatmeal cups, Mac and Cheese cups, ramen)
  • Feminine Hygiene products
  • Deodorant
  • First Aid items (band-aids, etc.)
  • Cooling fans
  • Books
  • Internet
  • Showering facilities
  • Exercise
  • Counseling
  • Snacks- non-perishable, individually wrapped, not expired
  • Drinks- refillable water bottle, juice boxes, water
  • Sewing kits to patch clothing
  • Laundry pods
  • Disinfecting wipes
  • Gas and grocery cards

About the Poway Unified School District Youth in Transition Program  - Follow on Instagram

The Youth in Transition program serves families experiencing housing instability and homelessness by seeking to remove barriers to enrollment, attendance, transportation, and academic success. Families who live in any of the following situations may qualify for services:

  • Emergency or transitional shelter
  • Hotel or motel (i.e. no fixed/regular nighttime residence due to economic hardship)
  • Unsheltered (i.e. a car, park, public space, abandoned building, campground, bus or train station, substandard housing, or similar setting which may include lack of water or electricity; health or safety risks
  • Temporarily with another person or relatives due to economic hardship or loss of housing (i.e. eviction, inability to pay the rent, destruction of home, illness, loss of employment, etc.)
 
Support the Youth in Transition Shopping Events in July & August
The Youth in Transition program hosts in-person student "shopping" events in August to help students get ready for the new school year. You can donate gift cards and drop them at the YIT office, send items through the YIT Amazon wish list or donate money to the Foundation to support these shopping events.
  • school supplies (backpacks, pens, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, highlighters, insulated lunch bags, earbuds for Chromebook use, refillable water bottles for use with school filling stations)
  • toiletries (body wash, shampoo & conditioner, body lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene, laundry detergent)
  • clothing (boys socks, girls socks, men's size socks, women's size socks)
  • snack food/drinks (to supplement free breakfast and lunch through school)
  • $25 gift cards (Kohl's, Old Navy, Target, Walmart, DSW shoes, Dick's Sporting Goods for athletics gear, Ulta Beauty, Sephora, grocery stores, Visa, Subway sandwiches)
  • free haircuts for school pictures by Bellus Academy of Poway
