Project Fuel the Future
The PUSD Foundation's Project Fuel the Future campaign aims to level-up funding to ensure high quality standard experiences to students in schools across the district, regardless of financial ability to pay and help us fill gaps with decreased state and federal funding. Help us break barriers to student success for every student.
While each school community works hard to support its students, not every school has the same fundraising capacity. Project Fuel the Future helps bridge those gaps — so that every student, at every school, can benefit from the same exciting and meaningful experiences.
When you support this campaign, you’re making it possible for every learner in our District to take part in programs that inspire, challenge, and prepare them for success.
Through your gifts in previous years, we have been able to issue sizable grants to 16 school sites in 2024-25 to help make an impact on filling the funding gaps.
Please join us in helping to Fuel the Future for every student in Poway Unified. Your gift today will open doors, create opportunities, and shape bright futures — one student at a time.
- Help us fund grants to school sites to help the schools do the work at the site level to fill gaps in supporting student success. Principals work with teachers and parents to prioritize needs for our grants to make the biggest impact for student learning at the site level.
- Help us fund our new “Math for Careers” initiative in which teachers are provided additional training and coaching to help ensure success for every student in math. Mathematics serves as a gateway to high-wage careers—by providing targeted support to students who struggle, we have the power to open that gateway and change the outcomes.
- Ensure that all elementary school students can access high quality curriculum in engineering, biomedical science and computer science by paying for teacher training and costs for supplies that go beyond what school site budgets can afford. Right now 16 of 26 PUSD schools are able to provide access. Student access to high quality STEM experiences and trained teachers with equipment should not be different from school to school.
- Invest in teacher training and classroom resources that benefit students directly every day.
- Pay the cost for busing students to college visits and trade & industry tours to help expose students to opportunities beyond the classroom.
- Support field trips, student competitions, and leadership development programs that might otherwise be out of reach due to massive budget shortfalls in 2025-2026.
- Fund the costs of hosting the PUSD college and career fair so all students and families can connect with future opportunities right here in PUSD. This is especially true for PUSD families that do not have the resources to travel and visit on their own.
