Project Fuel the Future

The PUSD Foundation's Project Fuel the Future campaign aims to level-up funding to ensure high quality standard experiences to students in schools across the district, regardless of financial ability to pay and help us fill gaps with decreased state and federal funding. Help us break barriers to student success for every student.

While each school community works hard to support its students, not every school has the same fundraising capacity. Project Fuel the Future helps bridge those gaps — so that every student, at every school, can benefit from the same exciting and meaningful experiences.

When you support this campaign, you’re making it possible for every learner in our District to take part in programs that inspire, challenge, and prepare them for success.

Through your gifts in previous years, we have been able to issue sizable grants to 16 school sites in 2024-25 to help make an impact on filling the funding gaps.

Please join us in helping to Fuel the Future for every student in Poway Unified. Your gift today will open doors, create opportunities, and shape bright futures — one student at a time.

  • Fund the costs of hosting the PUSD college and career fair so all students and families can connect with future opportunities right here in PUSD.
  • Support field trips, competitions, and leadership development experiences that might otherwise be out of reach.
  • Invest in teacher training and classroom resources such as additional hours for instructional aides that benefit students directly every day.
  • Ensure that all elementary students can access high quality Project Lead the Way Launch curriculum in engineering, biomedical science and computer science by paying for teacher training and costs for supplies that go beyond what school site budgets can afford. Right now 16 of 26 PUSD schools are able to provide access and we need to provide access to students in the other 10 elementary schools. Student access to high quality STEM experiences and trained teachers should not be different from school to school.
  • Assist in funding consumable supplies, professional kitchen equipment and gardening equipment for career exploration & training for students with disabilities such as with our Abraxas High School “Kitchen tABLE” culinary program and our Poway High School “A Cut Above” culinary program. Both programs provide additional career exposure and skills training for students with special needs to work and live independently after high school.
  • Ensure that teachers at all school sites have access to high quality professional development opportunities to serve the children in their schools with high degrees of efficacy and with needed supplies and equipment, beyond what their school site budget can provide. Help us fund our “Math for Careers” initiative in which teachers are provided additional training and coaching to ensure success for every student in math.
  • Pay the cost for busing students to college visits and trade & industry tours to help expose students to opportunities beyond the classroom.
  • Support field trips, competitions, and leadership development programs that might otherwise be out of reach due to massive budget shortfalls in 2025-26.
  • Ensure that all elementary school 5th graders experience Junior Achievement’s BizTown by assisting with busing costs and fees to participate, regardless what their school site budget can provide.
