Where Your Money Goes

Did you know that Poway Unified School District is one of the lowest funded K12 school districts in our region?  The limited funding Poway Unified School District receives from the state does not allow us to offer the depth and array of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) programs and experiences our students deserve and other districts are able to provide.  For that reason, we count on your financial support every year so that all 35,000 students in our District continue to flourish and achieve extraordinary academic results.

With your donation, the PUSD Foundation will continue to fund a variety of programs and experiences that will prepare our students to be world-class learners and to be college-, career-, and life-ready.  These experiences and programs include STEAM-focused support, academic competitions, and leadership development opportunities including:

  • Academic competitions, such as FIRST Robotics, Science Olympiad, CyberPatriot, Future Farmers of America (FFA), Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)

  • Visual and Performing Arts and the Media, Arts & Entertainment Fund

  • Annual Recognition to Showcase Excellence among District Teachers, Classified Staff and Volunteers

  • Middle and High School College and Career Fairs

  • Districtwide Professional Development Events

  • Junior Achievement (BizTown, JA Company Program, Finance Park and JA Ambassador Programs)
