Business Partners Make a Difference!

Strong business and community partnerships foster meaningful experiences for the Poway Unified School District students. With business and community support, we can continue to implement the many programs and activities that develop the necessary skills to prepare students for their future. Your donations help to support the following programs and activities.

College and Career Fair - Spring 2024

This annual event provides high school students and their families with information about college and career opportunities. Representatives from over 130 colleges, universities, technical schools, apprenticeship programs, the military, and business partners attended the fair. Students have the chance to learn more about schools and programs and meet with representatives to discuss college and career options.

Poway High School’s Team Spyder

Poway High School’s Team Spyder the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Chairman’s Award, the highest and most coveted award at a Regional and the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the purpose and goals of FIRST. “The Chairman’s award is presented to the team judged to have the most significant measurable impact of its partnerships among its participants and community over a sustained period, not just a single build season. The winner is able to demonstrate progress towards FIRST’s mission of transforming our culture. The recipient team will be invited to a FIRST Championship where it will compete for the Chairman’s award against winners from other qualifying events.” FIRST was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology.

Project Lead the Way

Project Lead the Way provides teachers with training and resources to expand STEM curriculum in the Classroom. Students are immersed in hands-on activities, projects, and problems that build upon each other and relate to the real world. They experience integrated learning that blends computer science, engineering, biomedical science, and more.

Junior Achievement BizTown

JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Elementary school students have the opportunity to role play as citizens, workers, and consumers in their community and relate those roles to Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.
